Three new ways to experience Maharishi Vedic City
Daily Orientation
Drop by the Visitors Center at the Raj between 9:30 and 4:30 any day of the week to pick up maps, brochures, and a self-tour guide to Maharishi Vedic City and Maharishi University of Management, with an informative overview about living and learning in harmony with Natural Law. A special brief videotape orientation by the Mayor, Dr. Robert Wynne, will get you started. Free.
Best Bet — City Tour
Take our half-day tour any Friday or Sunday from 11 a.m to 3 p.m.
- Begin your tour at The Raj Health Center with orientation, overview and a welcome.
- Enjoy a gourmet, organic, all-you-can eat buffet lunch.
- See the Vedic Observatory, an astonishing 1.5-acre outdoor observatory. Its design principles date back thousands of years and can be found in the architecture of ancient cultures from every part of the world.
- Visit the campus of Maharishi University of Management, including the Golden Domes, where 1,000 experts gather twice daily to practice Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying to promote peace and harmony in the world.
- Visit the Brain Research Institute, where scientists are mapping the unfoldment of the unlimited creative potential of the human brain.

First Friday Art Walk
Fairfield isn’t Santa Fe or Sausalito—but you’d never know it from the outstanding quality of the artwork. The first Friday of every month is the Fairfield Art Walk, starting at 6:30 p.m. Stroll the picturesque Fairfield Town Square where art studios and businesses open their doors to display the incredible creativity of local and nationally renowned artists and photographers. Meet and talk with the artists! Buy original paintings, ceramics, and photographs.
Best Bet — Tour and Art Walk Combo - the first Friday of each month
- Start by signing up for the City Tour and by making reservations for Friday night at The Raj Hotel and Resort or The Rukmapura Park Hotel. Both are luxurious Sthapatya Veda design hotels in Maharishi Vedic City.
- After a luncheon at The Raj and a City Tour on Friday, and checking in to either of the Maharishi Vedic City hotels, enjoy a superb, moderately priced dinner at one of the many restaurants and cafes in Fairfield serving excellent international food (California-style, Indian, Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Thai, Middle Eastern, and Continental).
- After dinner, join the Friday Art Walk, which starts at 6:30 p.m.
- Saturday morning, enjoy a healthy, light breakfast at your hotel and start exploring the miles of beautiful hiking and biking trails around Maharishi Vedic City, Fairfield, and Jefferson County.
