To Certify Population Of Maharishi Vedic City

February 27, 2002

WHEREAS, Iowa Statute (312.3(3) and 312.3(4)) require the Mayor and City Council to certify the population of Vedic City on its incorporation date and the population of the recently annexed land as of the last federal census,

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved the population of Vedic City on its incorporation date of July 25, 2001 was 136;

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the land annexed on December 28, 2001 to Vedic City is a portion of Block 3069, Census Tract 9902, Jefferson County, Iowa, that had a population in the last census of 34 persons. There being no greater detail available within the census block, the Mayor and City Council have determined through a head count that the population of the annexed area within this census block was 14 persons at the time of the last federal census.
