To Publish Notice and Establish a Meeting to Consider
Applications for Voluntary Annexation of Adjoining Land
November 17, 2001
WHEREAS, the City has received applications for voluntary annexation of approximately 442.23 acres of territory including the portion of Lot 1 that is not already a part of the City, Lot 2, Lot 3 except Auditors parcels A and B thereof, Lot 4 and Lot 5, Maharishi Center for Perfect Health and World Peace, a subdivision in Center Township, Jefferson County, Iowa, as shown on the final plat, recorded in Drawer 3, Document 995, Jefferson County Recorders Office. The Maharishi Center for Perfect Health and World Peace is a subdivision lying in Sections 9, 10, 15, and 16, Township 72 North, Range 10 West of the Fifth Principal Meridian in Jefferson County, Iowa. Applications also included a 2.13-acre parcel known as 1773 Jasmine that is not part of the Maharishi Center subdivision, which parcel is more fully described in the map and legal description attached to that application.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL that the Mayor and the City Attorney are requested and authorized to publish notice of the applications for voluntary annexation and to provide notices by certified mail to Jefferson County, the City of Fairfield, Area XV Regional Planning, applicable utilities, and other parties as required by law as to the applications for annexation;
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council shall hold a Special Meeting on Saturday, December 1, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. and the Rukmapura Park Hotel to consider the applications for voluntary annexation.
